Speaking about the HBO Max series on the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet, Einbinder, who plays Ava Daniels in the show, told E! host Heather McMahan, “It will feel different. She also said that the filming of the fifth season is set to begin next week, and when you know it's the last season, it gives a "bittersweet" feeling.
“We’re going to start [filming] next week, and knowing it’s the last season is really bittersweet. But I think it’s right, you know? It’s nice to do something as many times as it should be done. Not overstay your welcome. Rip it and do it and laugh and cry,” she said. HBO Max has, however, not given any update about the conclusion of the series.
Did the ‘Hacks’ makers drop a hint about the series’ conclusion earlier?
Jen Statsky, Lucia Aniello, and Paul W. Downs, the makers of the comedy series, have often been seen stating that they saw “Hacks” as a five-season show. According to reports, the fifth season of the show is expected to debut in 2026.
In an interview with Variety after the ‘Hacks’ Season 4 finale, the showrunners were asked about their plans in the run-up to the fifth season. “We are now breaking up Season 5, and we have to see how many episodes it will take us to get to where we know we’re going to go,” Downs said, according to Variety.
