Deaths reported in Texas
Multiple people have died in Kerr County, Texas after heavy rain caused flash flooding along the Guadalupe River. The river rose over 22 feet in two hours, and officials believe it went even higher after the water gauge failed at 29.5 feet, as per reports.At least 3 people died in New Jersey due to severe thunderstorms. Two of them — men aged 79 and 25 — died when a tree fell on their vehicle during the storm. Plainfield Mayor Adrian O. Mapp called it a "sobering reminder of the power of nature" and canceled July 4th events due to widespread damage, as per the Associated Press report.
Power outages and fallen trees were reported across southern New England, with hail and dangerous road conditions also causing problems.
Flash flood emergencies declared
The National Weather Service (NWS) called it a "deadly flood wave" on the Guadalupe River. They issued two Flash Flood Emergencies, first near San Angelo after 12–15 inches of rain fell. Second near Kerrville after the Guadalupe River rose quickly by several feet.In just 6 hours, Kerr County got over 7 inches of rain. The river reached its 2nd-highest level ever — more than the 1987 flood, as per the NWS.

Evacuations and rescues
Kerrville police told people near the Guadalupe River: “Evacuate now. This is life-threatening. Don’t wait.” A Walmart was turned into a shelter for evacuees.In Brady, floodwater entered homes and people had to be rescued. No deaths or injuries reported yet, but the situation is still unfolding, according to the report by FOX Weather.

- Most of Thompson Drive
- Guadalupe Street
- Rio Robles
- Riverside Drive
July 4th events canceled

According to the report by FOX Forecast Center, more storms are expected Friday and Saturday. Areas in West Texas and New Mexico could get 3–5 more inches of rain.
