Rockstar didn't keep its fans waiting until The Game Awards on December 7 to unveil the GTA 6 trailer. As expected, they demonstrated that they don't rely on awards shows, choosing to make any day, week, or month the GTA 6 reveal day after years of anticipation.

Earlier, Rockstar had informed about an upcoming trailer in December. Now, the details are public: The GTA 6 trailer is set to release on Tuesday, December 5, at 9 AM ET and 12 PM PT.

Game returning to a Miami-like setting

The announcement's artwork features palm trees and a sunrise reminiscent of Vice City, confirming the long-standing leak that the game is returning to a Miami-like setting after 21 years.

While details about the dual protagonists, including the first playable female criminal, remain undisclosed, anticipation grows for their official reveal in the upcoming trailer.

The anticipated launch is set for late 2024, although there's no clear sign that the trailer will include a release date or window.

Take Two anticipates a significant increase in revenue for the upcoming fiscal year, likely prompting them to confirm a release timeframe.

Given the trend of large-scale games facing delays in today's AAA gaming landscape, there's a possibility of a postponement beyond the stated window. However, fand remain hopeful for a timely release.

Its predecessor, GTA 5, sold 190 million copies. GTA 6 is likely to surpass 100 million copies within a few years.

Additionally, the expected GTA Online component is likely to generate billions for Rockstar over the next decade, following a pattern that may continue with GTA 7 and beyond.

In another news, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will join the game catalog on Netflix in December, as announced by Netflix and Rockstar Games.
