GTA 6 may feature Hispanic female protagonist. Isn’t it cool?

Popular rockstar games "The Grand Theft Auto" or GTA 6 will witness many changes in its world and characters. The most significant one would be the change in the protagonists, one of which might be a Latina woman in the crime game series. Her story might be Bonnie and Clyde-influenced.

The last time the "Grand Theft Auto" saw a female protagonist was in 1997 in GTA 2.

GTA positions itself as the American society's satire. In the past, it has been severely criticised for making jokes on and punching down the homeless and transgender people.


According to reports, Vice City of Miami will be the setting for the new GTA. We last saw Vice City in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002. "Scarface" influenced the 2002 game, set in the 80s. Reports also say that the game would be more focused on an indoor setting than the present outdoor one.

Dan Houser, the Rockstar co-founder, said that the development team's people would work several hours a week to develop Red Dead Redemption 2. Houser wanted to take the American Western adventure's grand scope and create something beautiful.

Many Rockstar employees spoke out due to Houser's interview, which would've possibly caused an internal fallout in the company. The revelations became a substantial contributing factor to sparking awareness of other game studios' similar conditions. There are rumors of increased interest in the industry's unionisation.

If the reports are anything to go by, the change in the work culture and healthy working environment rather than a toxic one would be a piece of welcome news.
