Green Day announces tour celebrating Dookie and American Idiot anniversaries
Green Day is set to embark on The Saviors Tour, celebrating the anniversaries of their iconic albums, Dookie and American Idiot, along with tracks from their 14th album, Saviors. The band has released a new video for "Look Ma, No Brains!" and is j...

The excitement surrounding this tour is palpable. Joining Green Day on this musical journey are some remarkable opening acts, making the choice of who to see a no-brainer for concertgoers. The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas will share the stage with the iconic trio.
The band expressed their enthusiasm in a statement, saying, "We've never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that's meant to be rocked live, together. So let's thrash. We've got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!"
A short, thrilling video has been released, but it comes with a warning about flashing images. In the video, the band performs in black and white in front of an audience, which includes a nurse and a catatonic-looking patient receiving shock treatment. The video takes an unexpected turn with a Wizard of Oz twist at the end.
The North American leg of the tour, officially named The Saviors Tour, is scheduled to kick off on July 29 in Washington, D.C., and will continue through September 28, ending with a performance in San Diego, not far from where Green Day was formed. Fans eagerly awaiting this experience can purchase tickets starting next week, with presales beginning on Tuesday. The general ticket sale is set to commence at 10 a.m. on November 10 through the band's website.
A couple of weeks ago, Green Day treated an 850-person-capacity crowd at Las Vegas' Fremont Country Club to a special performance of their iconic album, Dookie, in its entirety. This performance, which came after the re-release of Dookie as an expanded box set, left a lasting impression.
Rolling Stone reported, "For a band to be able to keep the rambunctious crowd without the help of mainstream songs shows why Green Day still sits at the top of the pop-punk pyramid." The evening concluded with "Revolution Radio" and the cult classic "Homecoming." The Saviors track "The American Dream Is Killing Me" had its first live performance at this show, and it was here that front man Billie Joe Armstrong announced the forthcoming tour.
