Governor Ron DeSantis gets Florida Democrat Dave Kerner’s endorsement
The Palm Beach County commissioner publicly endorsed DeSantis and praised his history of managing COVID and supporting law enforcement.

Dave Kerner explained that he had been a registered Democrat since he was 18, when he registered to vote. Yet, today he was supporting DeSantis across party lines. He did not see the support of a Republican as going against his party, as he was primarily a Floridan and an American before being a party member.
He saw his support of the Republican governor as the result of many reasons that turned out to be confluent. He cited some of the reasons as the state’s trajectory, the management of the pandemic, and his supporting law enforcement. He reiterated that the reasons for his endorsement were many.
Act of Courage
Kerner agreed that the candidate received a lot of what he calls "shadow support". He confirmed that this support is simply because the Governor’s service in Florida has been exemplary. He called him "America’s Governor" and mentioned that he had been told that what he did was an act of courage and that he should be proud of his out-of-the-ordinary support. He, however, shrugged off the comments, saying that the focus should be on the governor’s service and that endorsement across party lines should not be seen as an act of courage.FAQs
