Google unveils AI shopping assistance which including virtual try-on and photorealistic images

Google is expanding its Artificial Intelligence in the sector of customer service. Consumers can use this AI in Google and go in for their Holiday shopping. This tool will help create photorealistic images of what to shop.

With holidays just around the corner and you want something special to shop for your near and dear ones then Google is at your service. Google has announced expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to help people shop during the holiday season. Google will be updating its Search Generative Experience (SGE) so that the generative AI capabilities are brought into search to assist customers in their shopping.

Moreover, in December, Google will also come up with its virtual try-on tool which will help generate photorealistic images about what to shop.

Julie Black, Google's director of shopping products, told USA TODAY, that for the first time, generative AI will be a part of the holiday season.

There is a difference between a Search Generative Experience and a Google search. The SGE uses AI technology in its search operation. People can opt for the new options by going to search labs and clicking upon SGE.

According to Black, from November 16 the experience will be upgraded to include shopping and consumers can put in search terms to see the results. “Through our research, we find that 28% of people find holiday shopping for others difficult because they just don’t know where to shop,” said Black.

This would also help the consumer to try on clothes too. A virtual try-on option for women's tops was launched by Google earlier this year. This is now being expanded to include Men’s tops too, she added.

Black said that according to Google research, 80% of online apparel shoppers buy a cloth online only if they feel confident about how it would look to them.

From November 16, the virtual try-on experience is expanding to include men's tops with try-on icons at brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, J. Crew, and Under Armour.

In December, A new feature will also be available that will use AI to generate photorealistic images using words. The search will be combined with 35 billion shopping listings on Google.
