Although the older Chrome version will also exist and continue to function, the users of this operating system will not be eligible for the latest updates and upgraded features from Chrome.
Max Christoff, the Engineering Director at Google Chrome said that Google has taken this step to update to the latest Chrome version in sync with Microsoft which migrated to Microsoft 10 version in January 2020. Christoff informed that 21 per cent of the organizations are still in the process of migrating to Windows 10.
The updated Chrome 110 version is set to release in February 2023. Earlier it was scheduled to release in July, 2021 but got postponed due to Covid restrictions. Google made the announcement to halt support for the older Chrome 109 version in October, 2022.
