Good news for Donald Trump! His support among Black voters has doubled
Among Black voters, the poll's results for Democratic candidates are in stark contrast to Trump's rise in support. Black voters now support Donald Trump twice as much.

In the Morning Consult poll that took place in August and August 18, 2024, registered voters comprising 11,501 individuals were involved. These findings confirmed that Black voters have supported Trump much more than during his 2020 campaign. In the 2024 poll, 21% of Black voters support Trump, and this figure rises by 12 points from the Morning Consult poll as of 2020. The poll conducted has an error margin of one percentage point, with a plus-or-minus.

Compared to Trump, while the Democratic candidates increased support among Black voters, according to the poll, the support is minuscule. According to the poll conducted in 2020, 81% of those people were in support of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden. When the general elections were conducted in the United States in 2020, 92 per cent of Black voters voted for Joe Biden. As per an opinion poll taken in August 2024, 72% of the Black voters preferred the Democratic candidate for the Vice Presidency, Kamala Harris. While Harris currently enjoys a higher polling number than Trump among the Black vote, she does not have the same percentage growth as the GOP candidate in this survey.
The results of the Morning Consult survey paint a different picture of the 2024 election than did earlier surveys of Black voters. In an earlier analysis, Newsweek looked at the most recent nationwide poll conducted by pollsters since the beginning of August, which breaks down voting intentions by race. It discovered that, on average, Harris is receiving 76 per cent of Black voters' votes, while Trump is receiving only 16 per cent.
The Economist poll shows Kamala Harris leading Trump by 77% among Black Americans, while Trump has a 63-point lead. However, only 151 respondents identified as Black, making the results less statistically reliable. Both Trump and Harris have been campaigning for Black voters' support.
