Golf caddie, who clicked photos with Donald Trump, faces prison term for sending sexually explicit photos to minor girl

Daniel Mulvey, a 35-year-old professional golf caddie from Scotland, is facing a potential prison sentence after pleading guilty to sending sexually explicit messages and images to a 14-year-old girl. The incident occurred following the TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow in July 2023.

Mulvey met the teenager in Glasgow city centre after the festival and initiated contact via Snapchat. Upon discovering her actual age, Mulvey continued to send explicit content and made inappropriate sexual inquiries with the initial response being “can i trust you?”

The victim's family discovered the messages, recorded the content, and reported the matter to the authorities.


A relative of the victim described Mulvey as a "vile predator" and expressed outrage over his response upon learning the girl's age. The family member stated, "He didn't back off. He upped the stakes and started asking horrific questions about her sexual experience." They further criticized Mulvey's actions as "grooming talk" and emphasized the need for public awareness.

Mulvey’s top position can be determined by the fact that he has posted images on social media posing with the US President Donald Trump. He has also worked as a caddie at prestigious events such as The Open and has been seen alongside notable figures like Gary Player and Padraig Harrington.

Mulvey pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to sending sexual communications and referencing sexual activity between July 8 and July 9, 2023. He is scheduled to be sentenced today (Friday, May 23rd).

He faces a potential jail term, being put on the Sex Offenders Register and faces the end of his caddie career.

Authorities have emphasized the seriousness of the offense and the importance of safeguarding minors from exploitation.The case serves as a reminder of the need for vigilance and accountability in both online and offline interactions.
