Meryl Streep has surpassed her own Golden Globes record by earning a nomination for Best Supporting Female Actor on Monday, making it her 33rd nomination. She was recognized for her role in Hulu's Only Murders in the Building, competing with Elizabeth Debicki, Abby Elliott, Christina Ricci, J. Smith-Cameron, and Hannah Waddingham in the category.

In "Only Murders," Streep took on the role of Loretta Durkin, an actress featured in Oliver Putnam's (Martin Short) musical.
She later became his love interest as they collaborated to uncover the murderers in season three.

Showrunner John Hoffman, discussing Streep's casting recently expressed a desire for the renowned actress to make a comeback in season four.

In Extrapolation second episode "2046: Whale Fall," Meryl Streep, making her small screen debut, takes on the role of the last humpback whale on Earth, also portraying Rebecca's late mother, Eve, alongside Sienna Miller.

Streep, an Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress, has previously earned Golden Globes for her outstanding performances in films such as The Iron Lady, The French Lieutenant’s Woman, Angels in America, Adaptation, Julie & Julia, The Devil Wears Prada, Sophie’s Choice, and Kramer vs. Kramer.
