Wolf, the Gladiators star, looked unrecognisable when he appeared on Good Morning Britain with his son on Thursday. The popular programme is set to be resurrected in the coming months, and Wolf's son is eager to follow in his father's footsteps and appear on the show when it returns next year. Wolf, who’s actual name is Michael Van Wijk, spoke with the show's hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard about why Sky's earlier relaunch failed and why his son was eager to join this iteration.
His son stood with him and disclosed that as a child, he was frequently referred to as Wolf Cub - and so would make an excellent addition.
Wolf revealed to presenters Ben and Kate that he wanted to be the 'evil' Gladiator, but his superiors weren't interested until he proposed it. When he tried it out, he felt right at home, and this persisted throughout the series.

Wolf, who participated in the show from 1992 until 2000, is now 70 years old. Dean, his son, wants to follow in his father's footsteps and become a Gladiator as well, but they're equally competitive. Dean hopes to follow in his father's footsteps when the endurance-based game-show returns next year, having auditioned for the revival - and he even plans on going by the name Wolf Cub.
When asked who would win between the two, the father and son both said, “Definitely me”. Wolf asserted that he would still be able to do all of the tasks assigned to him”. “To be honest, I could play all of them comfortably”.
