The Gilded Age, led by the talented Carrie Coon and featuring a stellar cast, promises to return for a third season, with its blend of drama stirred by both old and new adversaries.

Whether it's the shrewd manipulation of high society by Coon's character Bertha or the delightful 'tact' served by Christine Baranski, fans eagerly await the continuation of this period drama.

The timeless chess play between old and new money remains captivating, leaving fans curious about the return of Julian Fellowes' compelling drama.

Here's a roundup of everything we know about The Gilded Age's anticipated third season.

HBO has not confirmed the renewal of The Gilded Age for a third season. Updates are expected shortly as WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have been resolved. Although HBO executive Francesca Orsi mentioned in May 2023 that a renewal is possible, she suggested that The Gilded Age's fate is uncertain. The creative team is already focusing on the upcoming chapter of the show.

Sonja Warfield conveyed to Town & Country that there is abundant historical material suitable for the show. She mentioned, "We discovered gems for season two that play into our characters' journeys, and there are so many more things we could play out if we're lucky enough to get a third season."

Additionally, she stated that in season one, they featured Thomas Edison's lights, in season two, they included the Tuskegee Institute, and the audience will unravel its significance in season three.

The first season of the series premiered in late January 2022, and fans were delighted with a second installment more than a year later in October 2023. If the show maintains a similar production schedule, fans might experience a considerable wait, possibly until summer 2025.

Alternatively, the creative team might opt for a consistent autumn/winter release, potentially bringing the next season in late 2024.

Familiar faces are expected to be part of the upcoming season of The Gilded Age.
