Russell Wilson will debut for the New York Giants against the Buffalo Bills in their 2025 preseason opener at Highmark Stadium on August 9, with live TV and streaming coverage available nationally
The New York Giants will open their 2025 preseason against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y., on Saturday, August 9.

Russell Wilson is set to make his first appearance as the Giants’ quarterback. Head coach Brian Daboll has confirmed Wilson will start, with rookie Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston also expected to see action. The order of rotation between Dart and Winston has not been specified.

Dart is not projected to start in Week 1, but his development could influence the quarterback depth chart later in the season. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers will not play due to a lingering toe issue that has limited his workload since spring practices.

The Giants enter this preseason following a 3–14 season. With Wilson under center and Dart developing, the team’s quarterback plan is more defined compared to last year.

Buffalo returns from a 32–29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. The Bills will rest starting quarterback Josh Allen, with Mitch Trubisky taking the opening snaps. Starters are expected to play roughly one quarter. The team will use the game to evaluate depth at wide receiver and cornerback, with Khalil Shakir and rookie Maxwell Hairston currently week-to-week.
