Ghislaine Maxwell quietly moved to Texas Prison from Florida, just as Trump considers pardon
Ghislaine Maxwell has been moved to a Texas prison. She is asking for a pardon to testify openly about Jeffrey Epstein. Maxwell's lawyer says she will stay silent without immunity. Trump supporters are angry about hidden Epstein files. Maxwell has...

Maxwell was first kept in a federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida, in an area called an “honor dorm” with yoga and pilates for well-behaved inmates. Now, she is at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in southeast Texas, which is a women-only prison that holds about 600 inmates, according to the report by Independent.
Her new prison is less secure, has limited fencing, and is also home to Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos founder) and Jen Shah (from “Real Housewives”). Before landing in Texas, she was briefly held in Oakdale, Louisiana during the transfer process. Maxwell is back in the spotlight because of new attention on the Epstein case and missing details from the official files.
Many Trump supporters and Democrats are angry because the Trump administration said no more Epstein files would be released, even after promising otherwise during the campaign. DOJ officials recently met with Maxwell, which led to people speculating Trump might pardon her, as per The Sun report.

When asked, Trump said on Monday, “I’m allowed to give her a pardon, but nobody’s asked me about it.” Maxwell’s lawyer, David Oscar Markus, told The Independent she was being moved but didn’t share more details. On Tuesday, Maxwell wrote to Congress asking for a pardon so she could testify openly and truthfully, as per the report by ABC News.
Ghislaine Maxwell asks for pardon to speak freely
The House Oversight Committee had subpoenaed her last week, and she’s set to give a deposition on August 11. Markus said Maxwell would stay silent and use her Fifth Amendment right if she isn’t given full immunity or allowed to speak outside prison. He explained: “Maxwell cannot risk further charges in a political situation. And prison isn’t the right place to get truthful testimony,” as per the report by Independent. But he also added that if she gets clemency, she’d be “willing and eager to testify” publicly in Washington, D.C., and share her side of the story. Meanwhile, Maxwell has also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear an appeal of her case, but the Justice Department wants it denied, according to The Washington Post report.
Trump and Epstein files spark more public anger
Markus is asking the House Committee to delay Maxwell’s testimony until the Supreme Court decides on her appeal. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche spoke with Maxwell last week. Markus said she answered every question and didn’t use any legal privileges to stay quiet, according to the report by Independent.Congress subpoenaed Maxwell while the Trump team was being criticized for hiding parts of the Epstein files. People on both sides — Democrats and Trump’s MAGA base — are demanding more transparency from the administration. The DOJ and FBI released a joint memo last month, saying there would be no new updates in the Epstein case.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Pam Bondi told Trump in May that his name was mentioned in the Epstein files. A reporter asked Trump later if he was aware of that, and the report came out just days after. Being named in the files does not mean someone did anything illegal, the report also made clear.
The Journal also said Trump once sent Epstein a 50th birthday card in 2003, which had a drawing of a naked woman and ended with the line, “may every day be another wonderful secret.” Trump denied this, saying, “I never wrote a picture in my life,” and now he’s suing the paper for $10 billion, as stated by Independent report.
