At just 17 years old, Mason Howell, a high school junior from Thomasville, Georgia, has secured his place in the 2025 US Open, one of golf's most prestigious tournaments.

Competing in the final qualifying round at Atlanta's Piedmont Driving Club, Howell delivered an extraordinary performance, shooting back-to-back rounds of 63 to finish at 18-under-par. Remarkably, he completed the 36-hole qualifier without a single bogey, outperforming seasoned professionals, including 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson.

Howell's journey to the US Open began with a standout performance at the local qualifying tournament at Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville, Florida, where he tied for first with a 7-under-par 64.
