George Springer’s dramatic three-run home run propelled the Toronto Blue Jays back into the World Series on Monday, ending a 32-year wait and denying the Seattle Mariners a chance at their first-ever appearance in Major League Baseball’s championship finale. Springer's towering 381-foot blast to left field in the seventh inning turned a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 victory in Game Seven at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, securing the Blue Jays’ first World Series berth since their back-to-back championships in 1992 and 1993.

Toronto will now face the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in a best-of-seven showdown for the Fall Classic, with Game One scheduled in Toronto on Friday. Speaking after the win, an emotional Springer told Fox Sports, "I'm just so happy for our team, our city, our country. This is such an unbelievable moment."

Springer had battled through injury after being forced to leave Game Five in Seattle due to a hit on his kneecap. "It doesn't matter," he said of his sore knee. "I owe it to these fans, this city and this country to give them my all. So I'll take it." His resilience proved decisive in Monday’s thrilling finale.

Seattle, meanwhile, came agonisingly close to their first World Series trip, having held a 3-1 lead after strong performances early in the game. Julio Rodriguez drove in Josh Naylor for an early 1-0 advantage, only for Toronto to respond in the bottom of the first with Daulton’s single scoring Springer. Rodriguez added a third-inning home run, and catcher Cal Raleigh extended the Mariners’ lead with a fifth-inning blast.

However, Springer, a veteran of Houston Astros’ 2017 World Series victory, rose to the occasion in the seventh, sending Toronto to the Fall Classic with a clutch hit that will be remembered by fans for years to come.
