George Russell of Mercedes was penalized, told to start from pit lane at Singapore Grand Prix
British racing driver George Russell of Formula One team Mercedes faced the harrowing experience of being pushed into corners by his car, replaced a power unit, and received a penalty.

The mistake cost Mercedes and Russell had to start his race at the Singapore Grand Prix from the pit lane. The penalty that Russell has to endure is graver than the back of the grid penalty, which means starting at the back of the grid. Russell will have to wait for the entire grid to pass, and after the safety car goes into the pit, he gets to start his lap. Russell's position was 11th from the pole.
Singapore has a very tough track to negotiate among the Formula 1 circuits, and the track is also very bumpy. It’s also called the Marina Bay Street Circuit and got an F1 licence in 2008 to host the Singapore Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton is Russell’s teammate from Mercedes, and both drivers are from the UK. Hamilton impressed the Mercedes team with his result of third from the pole and closed the gap between Red Bull and Ferrari.
