George Lowe, the iconic voice of Space Ghost, passes away at 67

Hollywood has lost one of its marvels, as voice actor George Lowe has left for heavenly abode. Lowe was popularly known for his voice in the show Space Ghost Coast to Coast. He was 67 and was reportedly facing several health complications before bidding adieu to the world on Sunday, March 2. The veteran voice actor had left his fans feeling devastated at the news of his passing away.

The news of his death was shared on social media platform, Facebook through his longtime friend Marvin Boone. In his tribute, Boone called Lowe his “my Zobanian brother and best friend for over 40 years”.

George Lowe was suffering from illness for a long time

Lowe, 67, was not in his best health at the time of his passing. Back in 2023, MC Chris, the contributing writer from Space Ghost Coast to Coast, spoke about the actor’s absence from social media. He informed fans that Lowe was facing health complications, including aortic dissection with the need of intubation. He was being looked after by a nurse and was staying at his home in Florida.

While Lowe’s most iconic voice contribution was from the titular role as Space Ghost, he has also undertaken other projects in his lifetime. He was also a voice over artist for several characters on hit shows aired on Cartoon Network, including Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Robot Chicken. He is also credited for his voice role in American Dad, The Grinch, and Celebrity Deathmatch. His latest voice over was in a February 2024 episode as Space Ghost in an episode of Max’s Jellystone.
