'General Hospital' actor Steve Burton finalizes divorce from Sheree

Steve Burton, the 53-year-old American actor known for his role in 'Days of Our Lives,' has finalized his divorce with ex-wife Sheree, as per court records obtained by People. The couple, who met on the set of General Hospital and tied the knot in 1999, filed for divorce in Orange County Superior Court in July 2022, without a prenuptial agreement.

The divorce settlement outlines shared legal and physical custody of their minor children, Jack and Brooklyn. Steve will be obligated to pay $12,500 per month in child support until April 2024, after which the amount decreases to $10,000 monthly. Notably, both parties voluntarily waived any claims to spousal support, both presently and in the future. As part of the agreement, Sheree will receive $50,000 in retroactive assistance.

The separation date was officially recorded as March 1, with Steve citing irreconcilable differences. Seeking shared custody of their children, the actor also requested the court to eliminate any possibility of spousal support for either party post-divorce.


The divorce filing followed an announcement made by Steve in May via Instagram, where he clarified the separation from Sheree, stating, "She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids." This revelation came as a surprise to fans, given the couple's history and the absence of a prenuptial agreement.

Sheree, a fitness professional, confirmed her pregnancy in October on Instagram, revealing that she is expecting her fifth child. The divorce settlement reflects the couple's commitment to co-parenting their children while addressing financial matters in an amicable manner.
