Gavin Newsom trolls Trump with ‘The Nodfather’ meme after viral sleepy photos

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, one of the fiercest critics of US President Donald Trump, has again mocked him after viral images showed the 79-year-old appearing to nod off at public events. The images, which have sparked memes and jokes online, reignited discussions about the president’s health. Earlier this year, the White House had addressed concerns after photos showed Trump with swollen ankles and a bruised hand.

Newsom’s office mocked trump

The governor shared an edited image of Trump, spoofing the iconic The Godfather movie poster, which was rebranded “The Nodfather” and featured six different images of the president appearing to nod off at public events in recent months.


"Saw this. had to share," Governor Newsom Press Office’s official X account posted Saturday, attaching the image. It is unclear where the original image originated from.

Trump vs Newsom

The meme comes amid rising tensions and public spats between the two politicians. Newsom and Trump have a long history of clashing, but the conflict intensified after President Trump deployed National Guard troops to Los Angeles in June to respond to anti-ICE protests.

L.A. became the first of many Democratic-led cities where the president has sent, or threatened to send, federal troops. This is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to launch ICE immigration raids across the country, which have drawn criticism and concern from citizens.
