Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero
Gatorade Orange
Gatorade Orange Zero
The affected products contain Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6, but the color additives were not declared on the product labels.
The recalled Gatorade was distributed in 37 states, including California, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.
Why Was Gatorade Recalled
The recall involves undeclared food dyes in the affected drinks.PepsiCo voluntarily recalled the product on September 25. The US Food and Drug Administration classified it as a Class II recall on October 2.
The Class II recall means that the use of or exposure to the recalled product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

What Dates Should Gatorade Customers Check
The affected 28-ounce bottles have lot dates of April 2027, May 2027 and June 2027.Consumers should verify the lot number and date information printed on their bottles of the affected flavors of the lot information and not assume all 28-ounce bottles of the four flavors are included, since the recall is limited to certain lots.

What Health Effects Are Associated With the Undeclared Dyes
The FDA information reported by ABC News says possible side effects from the dyes could include a mild rash or allergic-type asthma.The FDA also notes that these reactions are uncommon in the general population and are more frequently seen among people who have allergic reactions to aspirin.
