Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner debuts as Lara Croft in prime video’s ‘Tomb Raider’ series
Amazon Prime Video has revealed a first look at Sophie Turner as the iconic archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider live-action series. Turner, popular for Game of Thrones and X-Men, enters into a role earlier featured by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.

The 29-year-old dons Lara Croft’s signature shorts, shades, and dual pistols, perfectly spotting the character’s adventurous essence. Prime Video confirmed that production on the first season has officially started.

Star-Studded Cast

Along with Turner, the series portrays an ensemble cast which includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Martin Bobb-Semple, Jack Bannon, John Heffernan, Bill Paterson, Paterson Joseph, Sasha Luss, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, and August Wittgenstein.

Weaver will feature Evelyn Wallis, stated by Amazon as a “mysterious, high-flying woman who is keen to exploit Lara's talents.” Jason Isaacs as Atlas DeMornay, Croft’s uncle, a canon role from the franchise. Bill Paterson features Winston, the Croft family’s longtime butler, while Martin Bobb-Semple as Zip, Lara’s tech-savvy confidant. The other cast members take on fresh characters created mainly for the series.

Creative Team and Production

The series is led by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), who serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner, along with Chad Hodge as co-showrunner and executive producer. Jonathan Van Tulleken joins as the director and executive producer. It is produced by Story Kitchen, Crystal Dynamics, and Amazon MGM Studios, with executive producers that include Waller-Bridge, Jenny Robins, Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, Dallas Dickinson, Michael Scheel, Legendary Television, Matt McInnis, and Jan R. Martin.

Upcoming Video Games

While the TV series is in production, the franchise remains to extend gaming. Two fresh titles were revealed at the recent Game Awards:
