FTX collapse aftermath: Crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried arrested; details inside
The Royal Bahamas Police force arrested former crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried on Monday post the collapse of the FTX.

The Charges
While the accusations against Sam Bankman-Fried have been sealed till Tuesday morning, there have been no comments from the US prosecutors. The Royal Bahamas Police Force and the Attorney General of Bahamas have also not confirmed the nature of the accusations against Sam Bankman-Fried.As per reports by New York Times, Bankman-Fried has been accused of conspiring to indulge in securities and wire fraud. There are a few standalone charges against Bankman-Fried in categories like money laundering, securities fraud, and wire fraud. A separate set of accusations against Bankman-Fried have been initiated by the SEC. These include securities laws violations, which will be publicly filed in the New York Southern District tomorrow. However, it is still unclear whether the CFTC or the SEC will take on the lead in securing the civil damages.

Besides all the criminal accusations against Bankman-Fried that will be unveiled on Tuesday, the billionaire is also up for civil action by the SEC, the state securities and banking regulators, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.FAQs:
