French video streamer Jean Pormanove, who died during a 12-day broadcast on the livestreaming platform Kick after days of abuse by other streamers, did not die as a result of trauma or the intervention of a third party, court authorities said.

After his death on August 18, police found his body in a room rented for streaming in Contes, a village located north of Nice, France.

Reports from the New York Times and the French newspaper Le Parisien indicate that an autopsy on the body of the 46-year-old influencer, known as Raphaël Graven, showed that his cause of death was "not traumatic in origin and not linked to the intervention of a third party," according to the Nice prosecutor's office.

And it said that the probable causes of death, therefore, appeared to be medical or toxicological in origin.

Further analyses have been ordered to determine these causes, the prosecutor said, adding that Graven had cardiac issues and that he was undergoing medical treatment for his thyroid gland, as Reuters reported on August 23.

‘People’ have mentioned that he had a following of over 500,000 on his social media platforms, where he was known for gaming and extreme challenges during his livestreams.

In videos of Graven’s past livestreams reviewed by the New York Times and CNN, the content creator was regularly the subject of physical and verbal abuse.

On Aug. 19, a day after his death, Clara Chappaz, a junior minister in France for artificial intelligence, announced on X that French authorities had launched an investigation into the circumstances of his death. She also said that she had contacted members of Kick’s management regarding the case.

In January, as part of the investigation, French authorities arrested and detained two streamers who had participated in livestreams with Graven.

Although they were later released, the New York Times reported that Graven and another individual, who appeared to be a victim of violence and humiliation, were questioned by the police at that time.
