French Open 2023 has begun but this time 14-time Champion at Roland Garros Rafael Nadal won't be there to receive applause from fans in the stands of Court Philippe-Chatrier in Paris.

However, the King of Clay's absence means Novak Djokovic and number 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz, who won US Open last year, will be vying for the title.

Djokovic won the record-equalling 22nd grand slams earlier this year at the Australian Open 2023. He would look to add to his two French Open trophies. Nadal also has 22 grand slams -- Australian Open - 2, French Open - 14, US Open - 4, Wimbledon - 2. Djokovic has won 10 Australian Open titles, 2 French Open, 3 US Open titles, and 7 Wimbledon.
