Fourth of July weekend planner: Check upcoming events throughout the upcoming long-weekend

From concerts and fireworks to sporting events and family-friendly activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy this Independence Day.

This year’s Independence Day falls on Tuesday, offering a great weekend from Saturday to Tuesday in the US. Therefore, to make the most of this weekend, one can indulge into a variety of events taking place.

Meanwhile, those eyeing Fireworks Spectacular ahead, the DCR Hatch Shell on the Esplanade in Boston will host the 2023 edition of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The much-anticipated annual concert will commence at 8 pm, followed by a 30-minute fireworks show starting at 10:30 pm.

It takes place on Saturday, July 1 from 10 am to 2 pm at the historic gas station on 2871 Grant Ave. You can expect classic cars, food trucks, and more at this lively gathering.

On July 1, the City of Socorro will host ‘Independence Extravaganza’ at Cougar Park on 10664 Socorro Road. Gates will open at 5 pm while the live performances commence at 5:30 pm. The fireworks show will light up the sky at 10 pm.

4th of July Fireworks Spectacular in Downtown

Head to Southwest University Park on July 2 and July 3 to witness a magnificent fireworks display. The El Paso Chihuahuas will be playing against the Reno Aces, and the games will kick off at 7:05 pm.

Fort Davis Concerts:


If you're a music lover, don't miss the concerts in Fort Davis, Texas. Doug Moreland will take the stage on June 30, followed by Jody Nix, a traditional country music and swing artist, on July 1.

Electric Light Parade in Las Cruces:


Witness the annual Electric Light Parade in Las Cruces on July 3 with a "Red, White, and BOOM!" theme. The parade will begin at 9 pm at Apodaca Park and travel along Solano Avenue to Hadley Avenue, ending at Maag Softball Complex.

El Paso County’s Stars and Stripes
