Fourth jet for $80 mn: Jeff Bezos buys private jet that flies near the speed of sound
The second richest person in the world, Jeff Bezos, has allegedly purchased a fourth private aircraft, which comes with an outrageous $80 million price tag.

According to reports, Bezos purchased a Gulfstream G700, which is regarded as the world's most sophisticated luxury business jet. Twenty panoramic windows and a whisper-quiet cabin with 100% fresh, plasma-ionized air replenished every two to three minutes are two more features of the G700. The G700 blasted off from Ibiza last Sunday.

Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sánchez were spotted on the island close to the billionaire's $500 million superyacht at about the same moment, as per the report by The New York Post.
Bezos' aircraft made 28 flights in 39 days, according to publicly available flight data, leaving a carbon footprint of 264 tons, or 17 times that of the typical American in a year. Bezos's representatives have emphasized that he pays for carbon offsets—which finance initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and offset carbon emissions generated by his trips in his yacht and plane—and that he uses sustainable aviation fuel for his travels. Bezos reportedly made an effort to conceal the fact that he had purchased the plane from the public by taking advantage of an FAA program that permits jet owners to keep details about their aircraft confidential.

In order to reduce the public traceability of aircraft, aircraft owners can use temporary, randomized addresses that alter the aircraft's identity numbers through the FAA Privacy ICAO Aircraft Address (PIA) program. Bezos is rumoured to be the owner of two additional G700 predecessor models: a Pilatus PC-24 and a Gulfstream G650.
