Fortnite OG: What we know about release date, map and battle pass

Fortnite fans can prepare for the return of the iconic Fortnite OG experience. The original map from Chapter 1 Season 1 is making a comeback with exciting features and updates.

Release Date

Fortnite OG will return on December 6, 2024, and will remain a permanent feature. This launch comes shortly after Chapter 6 Season 1 begins, giving players less than a week to explore the new map before revisiting the original terrain.

Map

The Fortnite OG map will feature the very first version of the battle royale landscape from Chapter 1 Season 1. When Fortnite OG previously launched in November 2023, it showcased the Chapter 1 Season 5 map, which included iconic locations like Tilted Towers and Junk Junction.

This time, the map will be a simpler version, featuring one grassy biome. Notable landmarks include a dirt racetrack in the east, Moisty Mire replacing Paradise Palms and Dusty Depot taking over Dusty Divot. These open spaces may feel sparse compared to later versions, but they promise a nostalgic experience for longtime players.

Epic Games has indicated that the map will evolve over time, mirroring the updates it received between 2017 and 2019.

Battle Pass

The Fortnite OG Battle Pass will offer unique rewards across six pages. The pass will be available until January 31, 2025, and includes skins, emotes, wraps, gliders and back bling. However, it does not include V-bucks.
