Ex-president Donald Trump has decided to sue CNN for defamation. According to a lawsuit filed on October 3, Donald Trump has asked the cable news giant to pay $75,000 in compensatory damages and more than $475 million in punitive damages.

Donald Trump claims that CNN has damaged his reputation with false, defamatory, and inflammatory mischaracterizations of him and his ideas. He claims that this act of CNN will affect his political career negatively.

Donald Trump said that CNN used the term 'Big Lie' for him. According to the former president's lawyers, the term 'Big Lie' is a direct reference to Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf. It was a tactic or mind game adopted by the dictator to rule. Reportedly, CNN had said that Donald Trump's arguments and words are against the election's integrity of the 2020 elections.
