Playing formerly for Miami Heat, P. J. Tucker has moved on to the Philadelphia 76ers and made his appointment official. For his last team, Tucker has proved to be an instrumental player in every NBA game. The Philadelphia 76ers expect Tucker to deliver the same performance once he joins their training camp.

The real name of P. J. Tucker is Anthony Leon Tucker. He was born on 5th May 1985 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He started his basketball career in high school and then played college ball at the University of Texas. So far, Tucker has played 777 games, wherein his average stood at 29 minutes, 5.6 rebounds, 7.1 points, 1.1 steals and 1.5 assists per game.

Last year, he won the coveted NBA title as a part of the Milwaukee Bucks team. Now, he would play his 12th NBA season with the Sixers.

Reportedly, the Sixers have signed Tucker for a three-year deal costing USD 33.2 million. After the contract, they made his appointment official on Wednesday. The team’s President, Daryl Morey, said that Tucker wanted to deliver the NBA title to their squad, and his mentality and work ethic make him a valuable addition. Morey added that his team is excited to add Tucker’s toughness, leadership, championship pedigree and defensive versatility to their roster.

Previously, Tucker helped Miami Heat beat the Philadelphia 76ers in the post-season’s second round. With him switching teams, he will help Philadelphia in the championship competitions. When playing for Miami Heat, Tucker helped the team reach the conference finals. They fell short of just one win from reaching the NBA Finals.

Responding to his appointment with the Philadelphia 76ers, Tucker said the team was good enough to compete head-on with any other team in the league. He said that he had joined the team to do whatever he can to help them get to the next level. Tucker added that the fans of the Philadelphia 76ers demand greatness, and it would be up to the team to get to the position where they need to be.
