Long-time CBS 21 news anchor Robb Hanrahan took his last breath at the age of 60. Robb was considered a fixture of journalism in the Harrisburg region with his 38 years of experience in the broadcasting field.

This former CBS 21 anchor retired in 2021 due to his poor health. After a massive heart attack in 2020, he took retirement to take care of his health and devote more time to his family.

Hanrahan used to serve as an evening anchor and became a familiar television face by anchoring the famous political news show ‘Face The State.’

A statement was released from the CBS-owned station where Hanrahan worked for 38 years of his professional career. The station acknowledged Robb’s contribution during his association with CBS 21, where he made excellent connections with everyone who worked with him.

Stacey Hanrahan, the wife of Robb Hanrahan, also worked as a meteorologist at CBS 21. She was also assistant news director at the station until she left last year.

Earlier, Robb Hanrahan revealed in an interview with PennLive that his heart stopped twice as he got a cardiac arrest on June 18, 2020. He described his near-death experience as the most profound, enlightening experience ever.

Within his 38-years of journalism career, Hanrahan was associated with several news stations in Miami and NYC, working as a local news reporter. He joined CBS in 2010.

During his interview with PennLive, Hanrahan opened up about the stress of meeting daily deadlines and his medical condition, which led him to move on and retire from his anchoring job. He also shared in the interview how he got cardiac arrest the first time while talking to his wife on the phone, and five doctors were already standing around him. However, he added that local journalism gave him his proudest moment in life.

The cause of Hanrahan’s death is unknown.
