Ford Motors unveils new Mustang at Detroit Auto Show. Details inside
Ford unveiled the new Mustang at the Detroit Auto Show, which is taking place after three years. The new-gen Mustang will go on sale in summer next year and will continue to have gasoline-powered engines only.

As the world is steadily moving towards EVs, it was expected Ford to have an electric version of the Mustang in the store. Especially after the Ford F-150, the highest selling vehicle in the United States was given an all-electric motor earlier this year. Many people expected that company would do the same for Mustang. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least not for now.
The new Mustang remains on display at the Detroit Auto Show, which concludes on Sunday, September 25. The annual automotive show is taking place at multiple locations in Detroit, including the Riverfront, Huntington Place, parks and more. The all-new 2024 Mustang was unveiled at Hart Plaza.
Commenting on the legendary brand’s return, Ford CEO Jim Farley said that the next-gen Mustang is a big statement from the company given that their competitors were exiting internal-combustion vehicles. As per reports, Ford has confirmed that Mustang would only have a gasoline-powered engine, unlike other brands that are scrambling for the EV market share. However, Farley also confirmed that the company would be investing a whopping $50 billion in electric vehicles by 2026.
The 2024 Mustang will be powered by a 2.3-liter, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine or the naturally-aspirated 5-liter V8 GT. The latter option also brings a larger grille, hood vents, and a redesigned front splitter. The 5-liter V8 engine produces 460 horsepower and 420ft-lb of torque, while the Eco Boost engine puts out 310hp and 320ft-lb of torque. Along with the nine existing colour options, the 2024 Mustang will also come in two new shades - Yellow Splash and Vapor Blue.
The new Mustang will also have a Dark Horse edition, which will boost the power output to 500 horsepower. Additionally, the car will also have multiple track-oriented versions, including one each for NASCAR, NHRA and Le Mans.
