Florida has been undergoing redistricting, and this once-in-a-decade process comes with its own set of challenges. It requires enormous logistics to redraw the district lines of voters correctly. However, such a humungous logistical task is always susceptible to mistakes, and it happened this time as well. Several voters have reported receiving the wrong ballots due to recent redistricting.

The concerned authorities were informed recently about the mail ballot glitch noticed during the redistricting process. Subsequently, Joe Scott, who is the Broward supervisor of elections, has taken the initiative to correct the mistake, involving around a few hundred ballots. According to Scott, the ballots had already gone out before the new district lines came into force. This made ballots outdated for a few hundred people.

The issue was first noticed by Debby Eisinger, the former mayor, and active voter. Eisinger stated that she raised the red flag about the ballots and called the supervisor of the elections office immediately after noticing the glitch. Interestingly, some voters had received the ballots bound for District 20. However, it is yet not clear what would happen if a person had already voted. Notably, the race for a seat to Congress is close and heated in District 20.

While explaining the situation, Scott stated that the authorities were aware of all the ballots and knew "exactly", who would be affected by the error. He added that they were working to establish contact with all those voters, who would be impacted. He affirmed that poll workers would reach out to all the neighborhoods personally. Election workers would ensure that every voter's ballot is replaced with the right one, Scott added. However, he did not commit to any deadline for resolving the issue.
