The former Democratic mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio, came under fire from the governor of Florida Ron DeSantis, who implied that he was to blame for the increasing number of people moving to Florida.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was present at Republican Party colleague Lee Zeldin’s campaign in New York. As usual, Governor Ron DeSantis bashed the New York Democrats for coddling criminals. Florida governor also blamed the state leadership for forcing the residents of the state to migrate to Florida.
Ron DeSantis was there to attend Lee Zeldin’s rally in Long Island on Saturday. During his speech, the Florida governor took a sharp dig at Bill de Blasio, the former Democrat mayor of New York City, and claimed that he was the reason for the growing migration to the Sunshine State. He commented that de Blasio’s election in New York City caused the real estate prices in South Florida to skyrocket.
The Republican Party candidate for the US presidential elections of 2024 is believed to be Ron DeSantis, despite the rumours of Donald Trump running for a third time still being rife. On Saturday, DeSantis took centre stage during the rally attended by thousands in Suffolk County. Predictions show Zeldin closing the gap against the current Democratic Governor, Kathy Hochul.
