Lionsgate revealed the first trailer for "Flight Risk," a new thriller starring Mark Wahlberg. The film is directed by Mel Gibson, who returns to directing after "Hacksaw Ridge." The movie is scheduled for release on October 18.

Plot

In "Flight Risk," Wahlberg plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal, portrayed by Michelle Dockery. The Air Marshal is assigned to accompany a fugitive, played by Topher Grace, to trial. As they travel through the Alaskan wilderness, tensions rise, and trust among the characters is tested. The journey reveals that not everyone on board is who they appear to be.

Script and Production

The script for "Flight Risk" was written by Jared Rosenberg. The script made the Black List in 2020. The film is produced by Davis Entertainment and by Gibson and Bruce Davey through Icon Productions. Hammerstone Studios also contributed as a producer.

Release Date

Flight Risk is set to open in theaters on October 18. It will compete against other major releases, including Searchlight Pictures' A Real Pain, directed by Jesse Eisenberg and starring Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. It will also compete with Paramount Pictures' horror thriller Smile 2 and an unnamed title from Universal Pictures.
