US weather forecast.
Weather forecast for parts of the United States of America include flash flood warning, tornadoes watch, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and snow. A large storm will slowly roll out of the Southwest and into the southern part of the Plains and the lower part of the Mississippi Valley on Thursday. Areas of heavy rain and gusty thunderstorms will extend from Texas to Missouri.

Some of the rain will be heavy enough to lead to flash flooding. Some of the thunderstorms will be severe, with high winds, hail and perhaps a couple of tornadoes. The storm will move along a boundary between warm air over much of the Southeast with highs in the 70s and 80s and a zone of chilly air from the Rockies to the Midwest with highs in the 30s, 40s and 50s, NYT News Service reported.

A second storm will hit south along the California coast, with areas of rain and mountain snow that will extend inland to parts of Nevada. Heavy rain from the storm is forecast for Southern California from Thursday night into Friday and has the potential to set off new flash floods and mudslides.

Farther north, clouds will limit sunshine in the Northwest, with spotty showers. Much of the northern part of the Plains will be dry, but some pockets of rain will develop near the Great Lakes before the southern storm. Most of the Northeast has a dry and chilly day in store, but clouds may be extensive across the interior.

The pressure gradient between a storm over Baja California and high pressure over southern Oregon will likely lead to a period of Santa Ana winds over Southern California on Friday evening into early Saturday. Winds may gust past 40 mph through canyons and passes.
