"Five Nights at Freddy's" has raked in $10.3 million in previews. In comparison, "It Chapter Two" and 'Oppenheimer' both earned $10.5 million in previews. However, 'Oppenheimer' and "It Chapter Two" grossed $82.4 million and $91 million in opening respectively. However, "Five Nights at Freddy's" is expected to collect $70 million-plus opening, according to a report in Deadline.

The video game series “Five Nights at Freddy’s” is now a movie, available both in theaters and on Peacock on Friday. The horror pic, from Blumhouse Productions, follows a security guard (played by “The Hunger Games’” Josh Hutcherson) who accepts a job at an old family entertainment center, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, where the animatronic mascots are mobile and murderous after midnight, as per an AP report.

With $10.3 million in previews, "Five Nights at Freddy's" ranks as the third-best October preview, following "The Joker" ($13.3 million) and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" ($11.6 million). It surpasses the previews of "Venom" ($10 million) and even last October's "Black Adam" ($7.6 million). "Five Nights at Freddy's" also outperforms the $7.7 million in preview earnings from Universal/Blumhouse/Miramax's "Halloween" in 2018, which went on to open with $76.2 million, Deadline reported.

Meanwhile, a prolonged actors' strike that has set the US entertainment industry reeling from one of the longest work stoppages in its history. The strike, which has entered its 14th week, is scrambling next year’s film slate and delaying the return of primetime television comedies and dramas.

While film and television writers have ended their 148-day work stoppage, talks between actors and studios broke down last week and both sides said they remain far apart on many issues with no negotiations scheduled.
