Fire outside Etihad Stadium ahead of Manchester City vs Club Brugge Champions League game
An evacuation was carried out around the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday following a fire at a merchandise kiosk outside the venue, just before the UEFA Champions League match between Manchester City and Club Brugge.

The area around the stadium was quickly evacuated by stewards and security staff. The fire service later arrived and extinguished the blaze near the entrance to the Colin Bell West Stand.

The fire began at around 6 PM GMT in the kiosk near the stadium's main entrance, where fans had gathered to attend the presentation of the club's new January signings, the BBC reported.However, the event was subsequently halted.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Manchester City confirmed that there was a fire in “one of the outside merchandise kiosks, located near the entrance to the Colin Bell West Stand.”In another post, the club noted that all entrances were later opened and fans were allowed to move around the stadium as per usual. “Thank you for your cooperation,” it added.
