‘Fire Country’ showrunner Tia Napolitano to exit after season 4

CBS’s popular drama Fire Country is preparing for a major behind-the-scenes change. Tia Napolitano, who has served as showrunner of the series since debut, is exiting following the conclusion of current Season 4, TVLine has confirmed, according to the report by Deadline.


CBS Praises Napolitano’s Contributions

In a joint statement, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf admired Napolitano’s significant role in the series:


“Tia has been instrumental in helping both build and steer Fire Country, which not only became a top series, but is also the foundation of a growing universe … We’re grateful for all her contributions and tireless work, and look forward to collaborating with her on future projects.”

According to Deadline, Napolitano is departing to pursue other opportunities under her overall deal with CBS Studios, though the network highlighted that the series itself is anticipated to continue.

Napolitano also offered her thoughts on exiting the show:

Her leadership has guided the drama from its debut through four seasons, shaping narratives and developing characters that have resonated with viewers.


The Series and Its Cast

Fire Country stars Max Thieriot, who also co-created the series, as Bode, a convict who volunteered to become a firefighter to minimize his sentence while serving in his hometown of Edgewater. After his parole, Bode remains as a Cal Fire firefighter, managing the demands of dangerous rescues with personal development. The supporting cast are Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer, all of whom contribute to the series’ collaborative storytelling.
