Finger gun signal from Charlie Kirk’s right just before the shot adds more mystery to the killing; netizens draw parallels to MLK and JFK assassinations

After the FBI confirmed on Friday, September 12, that the man suspected of assassinating conservative figure Charlie Kirk has been identified as 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson, things didn't stop there. A plethora of information is emerging, mainly in the form of conspiracy theories and speculations. Since Robinson was taken into custody nearly 33 hours after Kirk was shot dead by a sniper at Utah Valley University, viral videos from the shooting incident, the alleged killer's political affiliation, and family members' comments have popped up, claiming a new perspective.

In one such claim/conspiracy theory that got a massive reaction was the alleged killer's location from where the co-founder of Turning Point USA got shot. The video was posted by the X account HOTROD, which was viewed over 10 million times, and gave an alternative angle to the incident, as most of the comments point out.

What does the video show?

An X user explained it with a close-up cut of the video with a red cross pointing towards a man standing behind in a white dress, a little far away from Kirk. And just a few seconds before the shooting, where blood is seen spilling out from Kirk’s neck, an unusual hand movement can be seen.


In his words, the commentator, named “The Ominis,” wrote, “I said before, I still believe the actual killer is still at large. Everyone in that private airport and every other person that was on that jet needs to be arrested and brought in for questioning. The bodyguards that were communicating with military signs need to be arrested.”


Another user posted a full-fledged analysis linking military body language to it and tried to establish that the bodyguards around Kirk reacted in an unexpected way.

The MLK and JFK connection

Quite expectedly, the comment section went wild, with a reaction that compared this shooting to Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) and John F. Kennedy (JFK), who were both shot and killed in a span of about five years.


However, some people seem to have a more neutral view on this; one user replied that it might be AI, “It’s compelling video. In the age of AI, it’s hard to even believe what you see anymore. Is this video authentic? Have the authorities addressed this video?”

The drone theory

Another popular theory shows a possible drone flyby during the assassination. The footage appears to have been captured just after the shooting, as the audio records someone saying, “There is being a shooting…”.
