FDA issues warning on cantaloupes recall over salmonella concerns

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an official warning to the public regarding a recall involving 6,456 cases of cantaloupe due to probable salmonella infection.

Eagle Produce LLC, situated in Scottsdale, Arizona, has voluntarily recalled these cantaloupes after an FDA-conducted test at a distribution facility revealed the presence of salmonella. On a Thursday, the FDA released this recommendation.

According to the FDA, the cantaloupes subject to recall are Kandy Produce whole cantaloupes with the UPC number code 4050 and lot codes 797901, 797900, and 804918.


According to the FDA, these recalled cantaloupes were distributed between September 5 and September 16, reaching California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Washington D.C.

Customers who have purchased these items are strongly advised not to consume them and to properly dispose of them.
