The FBI alerts voters to fake videos intended to deceive them on election day. There are at least two fake videos about voting that impersonate the FBI.

The FBI said that it has been impersonated in at least two fake videos intended to undermine American trust in the political process, warning voters about attempted deception in the 2024 election, as quoted in a report by Fox News.

In one instance, the FBI said in a press release on November 5 that a fake news clip claiming to be an FBI terrorist warning used the FBI's name and insignia.

The fabricated news clip reports falsely that the FBI purportedly stated that Americans should 'vote remotely' due to a high terror threat at polling stations.

The current threat posture and polling place safety are not accurately depicted in this fake video. The FBI claimed that the administration of five prisons in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona rigged inmate voting and colluded with a political party, according to another fake video purporting to be from the organization.

The FBI is working closely with state and local law enforcement partners to respond to election threats and protect communities as Americans exercise their right to vote.
