US FBI Director Kash Patel came under online ridicule after cameras caught his personal pep talk notes during a congressional hearing. The notes were written on personalized stationery labeled ‘Director Patel’ and reportedly “read like affirmations”, according to the Daily Mail report.

Some lines from Patel’s notes included, “Good fight with Swalwell. Hold the line. Brush off their attacks. Rise above the next line of partisan attacks”. Netizens quickly mocked him online.

Patel notes viral online

One X user wrote, “Lmfao he’s writing words of affirmation to himself”, another said, “This reads like the pep talk I give myself before every holiday with my family”, and a third added, “What an absolute loser having to write himself motivational notes because no one loves him”, as stated in the report by News18.

Another online comment noted, “Lmao this is so sad. It’s like he’s hyping himself up in the mirror before the hearing”. The notes went viral because Patel was using a personalized notepad with his own letterhead, which critics found unusual.

Social media mocks FBI chief

The notes were noticed during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, where Patel repeatedly clashed with Democrats, especially California Congressman Eric Swalwell, over Jeffrey Epstein’s case files. Swalwell questioned Patel about the Justice Department’s refusal to unseal certain grand jury documents related to Epstein, and specifically asked if any files mentioned former President Donald Trump, according to the report.

Patel responded angrily, saying, “Your fixation on this matter and baseless accusations that I’m hiding child pedophiles is disgusting”.

Swalwell pressed further, asking if Patel told Attorney General Pam Bondi that Trump’s name was in the Epstein files. When Patel didn’t immediately answer, Swalwell repeated the question slowly, prompting Patel to snap back, “Why don’t you try to spell it out if you’re going to mock me? Use the alphabet, A, B, C, D, E, F”, as mentioned in the report by News18.

Overall, the pep talk notes and Patel’s reactions became a trending topic, with critics calling them funny, sad, and loser-like, showing how social media quickly mocked a government official’s private strategies.
