Recent reports have claimed that Father Christmas who eventually inspired the mythical character Santa Claus near about 1700 years ago has been eventually discovered by scientists.

Eminent scientists have pretty recently unveiled the reconstructed face of Saint Nicholas of Myra who is the historical figure and actually inspired Santa Claus for the very first time in nearly 1,700 years, reported Daily Star.

According to Daily Star, while using data from his skull eminent researchers created a forensic facial approximation that reveals a ‘strong and gentle’ visage which is being described as having a broad face compatible with depictions from the famous 1823 poem ‘A Visit From St. Nicholas’. This poem helped shape the modern image of Santa Claus by introducing characteristics such as rosy cheeks and a thick beard.

Saint Nicholas who is an early Christian bishop known for his acts of kindness and gift-giving eventually has long been associated with the Dutch Sinterklaas and later on merged with England's Father Christmas to form the contemporary Santa Claus, asserted Daily Star.

The reconstruction was led by Cicero Moraes and the group of researchers eventually utilized data collected in the 1950s by Luigi Martino while employing advanced techniques to ensure anatomical accuracy.
