Fast moving storms bring Tornado warnings before the weekend in Southwest Central and Virginia

As per Pinpoint Weather predictions, the Tornado Warning in the southwest and central Virginia is gone as of now. However, some areas are still expected to see scattered rains and thundershowers.

Update 08:23 AM:
The Tornado Warning in southwest and central Virginia has expired. However, Pinpoint Weather still predicts several weather threats in this region until Friday afternoon, and people are warned to stay alert until the storm passes completely.


Besides, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued another Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 09:00 AM in the region of Southside and Central Virginia.

Areas like Gretna, Altavista, Chatham, Rustburg, Crystal Hill, Gladys, Concord, Ingram, South Boston, Halifax, Madisonville, Nathalie, Brookneal, Clover, Phenix, Saxe, and Keysville are still under the Tornado Watch.

They have issued another special weather statement in Monroe, Madison Heights, Sweet Briar Station, and Amherst.

The Pinpoint Weather forecasts scattered storms and showers for Friday, while few areas may have strong to severe thunderstorms.

A Tornado Warning is issued in Central Virginia until 08:15 AM. Areas like Amherst, Monroe, Sweet Briar Station, and Piney River must stay alert.

NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 08:15 AM in many areas of Southside Virginia. The weather alert is for areas like Sandy Level, Milton, Axton, Danville, Dry Fork, Mount Hermon, Chatham, Altavista, Gretna, Brookneal, Nathalie, South Boston, Clover, and Elmo.

NWS has issued a new Tornado Warning until 07:45 AM in the region covering Madison Heights, Lynchburg, Goode, Monroe, and Forest.

Also, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for Collinsville, Martinsville, North Shore, Horse Oak Level, Union Hall, Pasture, Bassett, Callands, Chatham, Dry Fork, and Gretna until 07:45 AM.

Southwest and Central Virginia will see the cold front on Friday due to thundershowers and storms in the area. Heavy rainfall on Monday and Tuesday may cause localized flooding and water clogging in areas with poor drainage and also in low-lying areas. Rivers and streams will swell up and run in full in a few locations due to the thunderstorm and showers.
