While I’m sad the Buckleys won’t be back for Season 2, I’m celebrating the joy that was Season 1. I had the pleasure of working with a dream cast and crew.”

Williamson had already told Variety about his intentions for Season 2. Additionally, he talked about his experience working on Season 1 and said, "I wanted to tell a story about this broken family that’s trying to fix itself, and why they have to do it individually and together. There’s a lot of secrets going on, and there’s a lot of resentment, there’s a lot of trauma, and there’s a lot of the past poking through the cracks,” as per a report by ComingSoon.net.

Before the cancellation, Williamson had hinted at his plans for the Buckley family’s story in an interview with Variety.
