BBC News said that Meta has noticed certain dangerous techniques are being used by Russian Media authorities for spreading misinformation which are proving to be malicious for the world communication just for the mere sake of spreading war propaganda and thus this ban is a counter to Kremlin’s foreign interference activities and covert influence operations. Following this statement regarding the ban, Russia has heavily criticized Meta saying it is an extremely negative attitude shown towards the Russian organizations and the relations between them will be totally jeopardized.

The official spokesperson from Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov added that it will discredit Meta in front of the whole world and termed this rash decision as ‘totally unacceptable’. Russia Today which is known as RT lately, Russia Segodnya followed Kremlin’s footsteps in no time claiming that this decision will not hurt Russia’s indomitable spirit and they will certainly continue their work. News Agency RIA Novosti and significant news brands like Sputnik and many more added that Meta is an extremely politicized organization and this decision will have its consequences, noted the BBC News.
Previously this year, before Meta’s decision the U.S authorities had also put sanctions on RT on the charge of undermining the democratic adversaries laid by them and claimed that RT makes the most part of Russia’s war machine communication and news by raising money for the Russian soldiers while paying for their weapons, bullet prove vests and other dangerous things in war devastated Ukraine. The BBC News reported that the U.S authorities also alleged that dangerous websites are being made by RT under the disguise of legitimate news portals and sites which are being used for spreading war propaganda and disinformation in the continents of South America, Europe, Africa and many more.
