F1 Japanese Grand Prix: Jules Bianchi's father lashes out at FIA after Pierre Gasly incident

Unbelievably, Phillipe Bianchi yelled, "There was no consideration for the driver's life or Jules' memory." The onboard video showed Gasly speeding by a recovery truck after the race had already been stopped while toting a billboard.

Pierre Gasly almost averted a massive crash at the Japanese Grand Prix in Suzuka on Sunday when he just avoided colliding with a rescue car in treacherous circumstances. The event brought to mind the French motorsports racing driver Jules Bianchi's tragedy in 2014, which was caused when the Marussia driver collided with another rescue car. Philippe Bianchi, Bianchi's father, has also condemned the recent incident.

Phillipe Bianchi shouted that there was no regard for the driver's life or Jules' memory—unbelievable. Jules Bianchi died in 2015, nine months after being involved in an accident during the F1 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. The race was red-flagged on the second lap at Suzuka on Sunday owing to Carlos Sainz falling out, but it was an incident involving Gasly that enraged Bianchi's father.

The onboard film showed Gasly, who was already carrying an advertising hoarding, speeding past a recovery truck when the race had already been red-flagged. Gasly, the AlphaTauri driver, later shouted that he might have killed himself as there was a tractor while he was driving. Gasly was given a drive-through penalty, which was translated into a 20-second time penalty, after the race for speeding under the red flag.
