Netflix officially announced the development of the Exploding Kittens series in April 2022, just a month before the mobile game was adapted for Netflix Games.


The series explores an eternal conflict of immense proportions, as both God and the Devil manifest on Earth, inhabiting the bodies of overweight house cats.

Exploding Kittens will be a 2D-animated series, with each episode expected to have a duration of 30 minutes.

‘Exploding Kittens’ Release Date

The initial announcement of the series stated that it would be launched sometime in 2023.

During the Netflix Upfronts event in May 2023, Netflix officially confirmed that the series is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2023.

Before its release, Netflix plans to showcase an exclusive clip from Exploding Kittens at the 2023 Annecy Film Festival in France — scheduled to take place from June 11, 2023 to June 17, 2023.
